Dow down more than 200 points as hectic week of earnings comes to a close
U.S. stocks fell Friday on the last trading day of the month as one of the busiest weeks of the first quarter earnings reporting season comes to a close with investors weighing blockbuster results from most large technology companies and good economic data, while keeping an eye on weaker data out of China and Europe. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) fell 220.27 points, or 0.7%, to 33,840.09, pulling the index into negative territory for the week, on track for a fall of 0.6%. The S&P 500 (SPX) was off 24.50 points, or 0.6%, at 4,186.97, leaving it clinging to a 0.2% weekly rise.
